S. Anderson represents the devotion of two generations of the Anderson family. Stanley and Carol Anderson began with their first vineyard in 1971. The next twenty years were dedicated to creating vineyards, caves and a winery to produce wines that rival any in the world. Carol Anderson attended the University of California at Davis as a graduate student in the School of Viticulture and Enology. She created the S. Anderson Champagnes and Chardonnays and continues to supervise every aspect of the winemaking process with winemaker David DeSante. The late Stanley Anderson supervised all planting of the vineyards as well as the creation of the caves and winery. His legacy is in every bottle that S. Anderson produces. Their son, John Anderson, conducts the business and marketing activities of S. Anderson while his wife, Tracy, a graduate of the California Culinary Academy, brings a creative flair to the winery entertaining. The Andersons have created a business that future generations will pursue with the same caring and passion their ancestors possessed.

The Winery & Vineyards
S. Anderson is a wine estate complete with vineyards, winery, tasting room, gardens and wine caves. It is also home to the Anderson family. The 120 acres of vineyards, planted exclusively to the noble vinifera grape varieties of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, lie in two of the world's most prestigious grape growing areas: The Stags Leap and Carneros Districts of the Napa Valley.
The winery, constructed in a Georgian Colonial style, was completed in the fall of 1989. Tastings for the public are conducted in a charming stone building that was once a pump house in the nineteenth century and in the 1970’s served as the first winery. Special tastings and events are held in the winery's elegant "Wood Room", named in honor of the late Larry Jack Wood, architect of the winery facilities and wine caves.
The unique S. Anderson Champagne Caves are impressive stone rooms with eighteen foot cathedral ceilings and cobbled floors. They are a link to centuries of traditional winemaking and provide an ideal aging environment for the S. Anderson wines. The caves hold over 400,000 bottles of Champagne on the yeast as well as Chardonnay and Cabernet aging in the barrel. They are also the site for candlelit parties and evening chamber music concerts in the spring.
