Winery, selected by The Wine Spectator as one of the top dozen new Cabernet producers,
is one of Napa Valley's smallest wineries. Reverie Vineyard is located in a unique
valley on Diamond Mountain once known as the Bonsell Property that is now divided
into Diamond Creek Winery, Von Strasser Winery and Reverie.
Reverie Vineyard is an incredibly steep, south facing, 40 acre, mountainside property
composed of rocky, infertile volcanic soil. (Poor soil is a hallmark of virtually
all the great vineyards in the world.) Reverie Winery specializes in producing
ultra premium Bordeaux varietal blends that reflect the uniqueness of its terroir.
The vineyard was principally planted in 1989 on St. George rootstock to Cabernet
Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc and currently consists of Cabernet Sauvignon
(2 clones on 14 acres); Cabernet Franc (6 acres); Merlot (2 clones on 6 acres)
and small amounts of Petite Verdot, Malbec, Barbera, Tempranillo, Grenache and
