of the state's most exciting, consistently producing limited amounts of award-winning
wines, with Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Zinfandel
forming the core of production. At Fieldbrook Winery, only premium fruit is used
in all the wines, and each is crafted with meticulous attention to detail. Although
owner Bob Hodgson brings a wealth of technical knowledge to his task as winemaker,
mostly gained through years of hands-on experience, he knows the surest path to
great winemaking is found by securing the highest quality fruit available. By
keeping production small, Hodgson is able to focus his full attention on making
each varietal the very best it can be. Although there are certainly appellations
in California more well-renowned for the production of vinifera varietals, Hodgson
