and Stella Wilson purchased the Chimney Rock Golf Course, located on Napa Valley's
famed Silverado Trail in 1980. Hack promptly converted nine of his holes to vineyard.
Drawing on his love of fine wine and his extensive entrepreneurial, managerial,
and marketing experience in the beer and soft drink industries, both in the United
States and abroad, Hack set out to create an estate winery modeled along the lines
of the great chateaux of Bordeaux.
Now, almost two decades later, Hack has more than achieved his goal. The striking,
gabled, Cape-Dutch style winery that sits nestled in a stately poplars grove is
a major stopping-off point for wine enthusiasts visiting the world-renowned Stags
Leap District of the Napa Valley.
It's Chimney Rock's Cabernets, "Reserve" Cabernets and Elevage, Carneros Chardonnay
and distinctive Fume Blanc that grace the best restaurant wine lists and are prized
by avid wine drinkers and collectors alike.
