pioneering spirit is not just a thing of the past -- it is very evident in the
present-day story of Jean-NoŽl and Marketta Fourmeaux. They came to the United
States from France in 1980 to begin their unique wine dream which is now Chateau
Potelle, one of the most highly respected wineries in the Napa Valley. It is a
story of hard work and skill, with as many interesting twists as the winding road

Five miles up the winding, wooded road takes you to another world.
A small mountain valley of splendid natural beauty opens up with rolling vineyards,
creating a picturesque patchwork framed by 360 degree views and majestic mountain
tops. Nestled in the ruggedly beautiful slope on Mt. Veeder overlooking the Napa
Valley you will find Chateau Potelle Winery and Vineyards. Jean-NoŽl and Marketta,
the owners and winemakers, were awed by this majestic place in nature the first

Formerly Official Wine Tasters for the French Government, the Fourmeaux's wines
combine California's luscious fruit and innovative spirit with their native French
winemaking tradition and techniques.
