Vineyard's first vintage in 1975, Winemaker Hank Wetzel has made estate grown
wines with an owner's dedication. Careful to preserve the quality born in the
vineyard, his accomplished efforts have heightened the worldwide reputation of
Alexander Valley. Hank consistently crafts impressive wines: Chardonnay, Cabernet
Sauvignon and Merlot are the principal varietals, along with limited bottlings
of Chenin Blanc, Gewurztraminer, Zinfandel, Syrah and Pinot Noir. "My goal is
to make wines that capture the exceptional fruit flavors and soft tannins characteristic
of this region -- wines with accessibility, grace and finesse," he says.
